Water Pressure Incident in Ludlow:

Residents Should Check Basements, Hot Water Heaters, Boilers, and Meters

Update, 1/30/19:  Residents in this area may continue to notice lower than normal water pressure. Fire protection continues to be unaffected. Water pressure is expected to return to normal levels within the next two weeks.

The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission is advising residents in and adjacent to the Electric Park area in Ludlow to check their basements, water heaters, boilers, and water meters for leaks or flooding.

Residents that notice damage should call 413-310-3501 to report it to the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission. Crews will visit each property that reports damage as soon as possible.

Commission crews are working to resolve the water pressurization problem in the area. Fire protection is not affected.

Residents are also asked to notify any neighbors in this area that may be out of town and away from their properties.

Property Claims

Property owners should report to the Commission damage from this incident that may result in a claim to the Commission. Property owners may wish to consult with their homeowner’s insurance if the damage is substantial. Property owners are also advised to document any damage in advance of a claim.
