The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission won the title of New England’s Best Tasting Drinking Water at a blind taste test held at the New England Water Works Association’s Annual Conference on September 22nd.
Springfield water competed against water samples from nine other communities across New England. Three independent judges ranked the ten entries, and Springfield came out on top as the best tasting and most aesthetically pleasing water.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition,” said Katherine J. Pedersen, retired Executive Director. “The Best Tasting Drinking Water Award is a testament to the high quality of our water and our employee’s diligence and commitment to provide an abundant supply of safe, great tasting water.” The Commission supplies water to more than 250,000 residents of Springfield, Ludlow, Agawam, East Longmeadow and Longmeadow.
