The Commission was honored at MassDEP's 2024 Drinking Water Awards Day with the "Taking Action to Reduce Lead" Award. Through the MassDEP Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR ) pilot program, the Commission sampled all 43 Springfield public schools and conducted outreach to offer testing to all licensed daycares in our service area, the most of any utility in Massachusetts.

The Commission's Laboratory Manager, Process Control Manager, and Laboratory Technician were on hand to accept the award from MassDEP Commissioner Bonnie Heiple (seen below at right).
