The Commission is excited to announce its new Customer Assistance Program (CAP). The CAP provides a one-time $125 water/sewer bill credit to income-eligible Commission customers that reside in single-family, owner-occupied homes in Springfield or Ludlow.
The CAP is intended to assist low-income customers in managing their water and sewer bills. The income qualifications for CAP are the same as the Massachusetts Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). In order to qualify for CAP, customers must submit their LIHEAP approval letter as proof-of-income, along with their CAP application.
Customers may apply for the credit annually each fiscal year. Applications will be accepted now through June 30, 2021, as long as funding remains.
More information about the program, including where to apply for LIHEAP and different methods available to apply for CAP, can be found here.
