Hydrant Replacement Project

Hydrants provide critical fire protection to homes and businesses. There are over 6,000 fire hydrants in the Commission’s distribution system. The Commission is responsible for maintaining these hydrants and routinely inspects them to ensure they are in proper working order. Maintenance include exercising hydrant valves, conducting fire flow tests, painting, repair, and replacement.  In FY21 the Commission appropriated $100,000 for the repair and replacement of hydrants.
