Meter Replacement Project
Water meters are an integral part of the water distribution system. Meters are used to record water usage, provide accuracy in billing customers, and help alert residents of a potential leak or home plumbing issue by documenting consumption patterns.
In order to maintain meters throughout the Commission’s retail distribution system the Commission appropriates funding for the Meter Replacement Project to support the cyclical replacement of water meters. This ongoing replacement project helps keep meters in the distribution system up to current standards and specifications. In FY20 the Commission replaced 3,200 and plans to replace a significant number again in FY21.
