While many of the Commission’s significant Capital Improvement Program projects include infrastructure renewal of aging pipes, valves, and equipment, the Commission is also committed to maintaining our technology infrastructure. In FY21 the Commission has planned a SCADA Data Center Rebuild Project which will provide significant and much needed upgrades to water operations.
SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and is the system used to operate West Parish Filters Water Treatment Plant among other facility systems within the Commission. Without this system the Commission would be unable to effectively filter, treat, produce and distribute water to homes and businesses.
The current SCADA system at West Parish Filters, consisting of servers, storage operating systems, and network devices, have all reached the end of life and support. The Commission’s Information Technology group will be redesigning the environment by leveraging modern technologies and utilizing new, high performing software.
