The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission observes fire flow testing to determine if there is sufficient water available to add a new water service or extend an existing main. If a construction project includes a proposed new water service or main extension, a fire flow test will be required. The property owner will need to complete the Fire Flow Test Application and return the completed form, with applicable application fees to the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission.

Fire Flow Testing Fees

• $200 per test during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
• $400 per test during evenings, weekends, and holidays (only with prior Commission approval)
• In addition to the testing fee, a $100 application fee is required

Fire Flow applications and fees must be submitted electronically.

Instructions for submitting payment electronically will be provided upon receipt of the completed application.
