The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission is now accepting applications for the Customer Assistance Program (CAP) for FY23 (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023).
As of July 1, 2022, the annual credit for the CAP increased from $125 per year to $250 per year. The CAP is available to single-family/owner-occupied homeowners that qualify for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and is one of the few of its kind among water utilities in the nation. More information and CAP application is available on the Commission’s website https://waterandsewer.org/cap/.
Applicants must complete and return the form, along with required proof of income eligibility documentation (LIHEAP approval letter) to the Commission.
The Commission’s discount program for senior, disabled, and disabled Veteran homeowners also increased as of July 1st, from $75 per year to $81 per year. More information on the discount program and application is available on the Commission’s website https://waterandsewer.org/residential/customer-assistance-programs/.
