Customers, residents, and water/wastewater system users can sign up for water and sewer alerts through the Commission’s notification system (Everbridge).
The Commission owns and maintains drinking water infrastructure in Springfield and Ludlow, and owns and maintains sewer infrastructure in Springfield.
Upon signing up, users can select the types of alerts they would like to receive. These include emergency notifications and/or updates on water and sewer maintenance in your neighborhood.
When the Commission is in your neighborhood performing selected types of maintenance, you will receive an automated notification with any relevant instructions or information via the communication method you choose.
You do not need to be a Commission account holder to sign up for alerts. Anyone interested in receiving notifications from the Commission, including homeowners, renters, property owners, or those that work in or visit Springfield or Ludlow, may sign up at any time.
Multiple individuals associated with one property address may sign up. For example multiple family members living in a house may sign up for accounts to receive alerts on their individual cell phones.
To change your contact information or preferences, please log in to your Everbridge account.
In event of a water/sewer emergency affecting public health, such as a boil-water order, all Commission customers with contact information on file will receive emergency alerts whether they have signed up for notifications or not. [Update your billing account contact information here.]
Please note, the City of Springfield and the Town of Ludlow maintain their own separate emergency alert systems. The Commission’s emergency alert system is intended only for its customers in Springfield, Ludlow, and a small number of accounts located just within the borders of neighboring communities. During an incident, customers can also view emergency updates from the Commission on Facebook, X, and Instagram @SpfldWaterSewer.
To sign up for other municipal emergency alerts (such as storm emergencies, traffic closures, etc.) visit the City of Springfield’s website https://www.springfield-ma.gov/cos/residents or the Town of Ludlow’s website https://www.ludlow.ma.us/215/Blackboard-Connect.
Residents of communities with regional drinking water or wastewater contracts with the Commission should contact their respective town officials for emergency or important water and sewer system updates.
When users sign up to receive water/sewer alerts they do so through Everbridge, a third-party platform contracted by the Commission. Contact information added by users is stored in Everbridge’s confidential database. The Commission does not sell or distribute personal contact information.
Commission account holders should know that the Commission does not use contact information users provide to Everbridge to update their billing accounts. Customers should call the billing department directly at 413-452-1393 or visit https://waterandsewer.org/residential/change-of-address/ to keep their account contact information current.
